5 Questions Parents Ask Before Registering for Buzzardball

Choosing the right youth basketball league involves more than finding a place to play. Parents want to understand the cost, schedule, locations, team formation and registration process before making a commitment.

To make that decision easier, here are answers to five of the most common questions families ask about the 2026–27 Buzzardball Winter Basketball League.

1. What Does It Cost?

Registration fees for the 2026–27 season are:

Kindergarten–2nd Grade: $350
3rd–8th Grade: $400

Half-payment options are also available:

Kindergarten–2nd Grade: $175
3rd–8th Grade: $200

Your payment secures your child’s roster spot.

Registration includes much more than games. Players receive a reversible pro-style jersey, weekly practices and games, professional photo day, certified officials, experienced site directors, free spectator admission and outstanding support throughout the season.

Most importantly, Buzzardball is built around equal playing time, balanced teams and creating a positive experience for every player.

2. When Does the Season Begin?

Practices begin the week of December 7, 2026.

Regular-season games are played on Sundays:

January 10
January 17
January 24
January 31
February 7
February 21
February 28

The Kindergarten–2nd Grade season concludes on February 28.

The 3rd–8th Grade divisions will hold their playoffs on March 7.

This schedule gives families the complete season calendar before registering, making it easier to plan ahead.

3. Where Are Games and Practices Held?

Buzzardball games will be played at four primary locations:

Sport Courts Fitness
Rio Americano High School
El Camino High School
John Barrett Middle School

Practices are held at several facilities throughout the Sacramento area:

Sport Courts Fitness
Legend Athletics
Arden Church
Touch Shooting
Pick Up USA
Church of God
Brookfield School

Teams practice once each week for one hour.

Practice assignments are based on team and coach availability. We work hard to provide flexibility and find a schedule that works for as many families as possible.

4. Can My Child Play With Friends?

Yes!

Buzzardball offers families three ways to register:

Friend requests are an important part of the Buzzardball experience, and we make every effort to honor them.

Families should list their friend or coach requests during registration. The earlier players register, the easier it is to keep groups together while creating balanced teams.

5. How Do I Register?

Visit BuzzardballHoops.net and complete the online registration form.

During registration, you will provide your child’s information, identify any friend or coach requests and select a payment option.

Please remember that completing the registration form by itself does not reserve a roster spot. Payment secures your child’s place in the league.

The primary registration deadline is November 15, 2026. However, some divisions—especially our younger age groups—may fill before the deadline. Families are encouraged to register early.
