SUMMER BASKETBALL LEAGUE
A Note From the Director
To Our Buzzardball Families,
After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2026 Buzzardball Summer Basketball League.
Simply put, registration numbers did not reach the level needed to provide the type of league experience families have come to expect from Buzzardball. Rather than move forward with a watered-down version, we believe it is more important to pause, regroup, and evaluate how we can bring the Summer League back stronger and better in the future.
While this is disappointing, we are also excited about the opportunity to reimagine the program and explore a fresh new direction for Summer 2027.
We are incredibly grateful for the players, families, coaches, and supporters who have been part of the first five seasons of Buzzardball Summer League. Your support means everything to us.
Buzzardball Summer Camp will continue as scheduled, and we look forward to an exciting summer in the gym together.
Thank you for your understanding, your support, and for continuing to be part of the Buzzardball family.

Sacramento's
Complete Youth Basketball
Experience
The Buzzardball Summer League is a unique opportunity for Boys and Girls in Grades 3-9 to continue their love for the game of basketball.
Getting ready for its sixth season, the Buzardball Summer Basketball League was formed in 2021 to allow kids back into basketball in a relaxed setting. Many participants just wanted to reintroduce physical activity into their lives.
The Buzzardball Summer format differs from the Winter League. There are no practices. Just games on Saturday mornings and afternoons. And back for another season ... you are allowed to request to play with friends on the same team for the whole season. OR you can bring in a whole team. It's still OKAY to fly solo. Solo players will be placed on different teams each week, depending on what spots need to be filled.
The Buzzardball Summer League is also a great way for soon-to-be 3rd Graders to make the transition to 10-foot hoops with officials making calls. There will be free throws, and yes... You can finally steal the dribble. In the same breath, we also offer a division where our soon-to-be 9th Graders can have a final opportunity to play in an organized league before they embark upon their high school career.
We are also fortunate to have Sport Courts Fitness as our official home. SCF is a state-of-the-art facility where the league can run two games simultaneously. Each game features two officials from Hawkins Officiating. We keep score, but don’t track standings. Each player gets the opportunity to play in eight games during the summer.
